Our History

Part of the prestigious King’s College Group, King’s College Chamartín builds on over 50 years of British educational excellence in Spain. Founded in 1969 by Sir Roger Fry - a visionary educator and international advocate for British education who was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2012 and honoured by both the UK and Spain - Sir Roger laid the foundation for one of Europe’s most respected school networks.

In 2013, we opened our purpose-built campus in central Chamartín. In 2019, we joined the Inspired Education Group, connecting with a global community of premium schools. In 2023, we were named one of Spain’s Top 30 Most Innovative Schools by El Español.

Today, the King’s Group includes award-winning schools ranked among Spain’s best (Forbes, El Mundo), renowned for academic excellence, technological innovation, and personalised learning. Our pupils consistently exceed UK standards and secure places at leading universities worldwide.

Recent inspections by ISI and PENTA International, a British government-accredited body, have awarded us “Outstanding” in every category for the past three years, recognising our excellence in education and care.*
